Melqart for Pharmaceutical Industries is expected to start production in the 1st quarter of 2022 through its State-of-the-Art factory located at Damascus countryside, Saidnaya (25km from Damascus)
With a 9,600 m2 building area, the factory is equipped with the highest quality manufacturing equipment. Tablets and capsules are the dosage forms planned for the first production phase, counting on 2 main production lines. Operations are supported by comprehensive laboratories, fully equipped for R&D activities and quality assurance. Furthermore, the factory has developed a full infrastructure for more dosage forms expansion in the future.
Production Capacity
In its first year of production, the factory should produce 14 kinds of medicines focusing on neurologic and gastrointestinal diseases with a capacity of 300,000 tablets and 100,000 capsules per hour.
Melqart, by its infrastructure and operation standards, is planning to acquire GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 45001 (occupational health & safety).
The pharmaceutical industry in Syria is a very promising sector, for the local market and with possible export opportunities to the neighboring countries. Our goal is to be among the leaders in the industry by providing consumers with the highest quality of medicines.
Mawya Hotel Linen Services is another sector that the Group has invested in, aiming to provide dry-cleaning/laundry services to its own hotels as well as to others, and to produce in the future some materials needed for hotels and restaurants.
This industrial-level laundry facility is located in Adra Industrial City, next to Damascus. The facility is expected to start its operations in the first quarter of 2022.
DANZ Food Industries was created following the partnership between NIG and Daoud Group. DANZ owns the only full mechanical slaughterhouse in Syria, which provides the local market with a wide range of Halal poultry products, with possible export prospects to the neighbouring countries. The facility is located in the industrial city of Hissiah, in the Syrian Central Region (Homs Governorate), it has a big plant built in 2004 with fully automatic poultry meat processing, based on international health systems, and controlled by ISO 9001:2015.
The factory has a supporting broiler house facility located at Al-Bouraij and consists of two modern hangars that uses two methods of chicken raising: the floor rearing and the cage rearing with an overall capacity of 67,000 broiler chickens per cycle.
Products:
• Live chicken (from our broiler house for own production use only), about 300,000 chickens per year
• Raw poultry meat: 9,600,000 chickens yearly
• Frozen processed poultry meat (burgers, nuggets …)
• Cooked poultry meat, ready to eat (luncheon, cold cuts…)
Sections: 12,000 square meters of buildings are split into broiler house, slaughterhouse with refrigerators (Zero C unites, -18 C storage chambers for frozen products, -40 C deep freezing), processed products plant, raw materials warehouse, waste treatment unit, technical services units, and administrative offices.
